The XFL (version 2.0) kicked off this weekend, and by all accounts, the league’s first two days of games were a massive (and somewhat surprising) success.

Heading into opening weekend, the Dallas Renegades, led by former Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops, were favored (5/2 odds) to win the league’s inaugural championship. The Renegades’ Week 1 opponent: The St. Louis Battlehawks (who opened with 10/1 championship odds).

St. Louis entered the game as 9.5-point underdogs, but went on to defeat Dallas by a score of 15-9.

And the Battlehawks didn’t hold back in their post-game celebrations.

Let the following video (courtesy of the Battlehawks’ official Twitter account) serve as evidence:

In the video, the Battlehawks’ locker room resembled something more reminiscent of a team celebrating a Super Bowl championship than a team celebrating a regular season victory in the XFL.

With Vince McMahon and Oliver Luck (Andrew Luck’s father) serving as the masterminds of the relaunched XFL, it should come as no surprise that teams apparently have a ‘Bud Light Seltzer Lounge’ waiting for them in the locker room after their games.

If nothing else, this video proves that the players of the XFL are passionate about winning football games and are truly enjoying themselves.

Based on how things went this weekend, it’s safe to say the XFL has a legitimate chance to survive long-term.
