NFL Week 12 best bets: Several prop bets stand out

the masters-masters-augusta-augusta national-2020-promo-promotions-offers-betMGM-mgm

As expected, the 2020 NFL season has been unlike any other season in the history of professional football. And in Week 12, things got even weirder.

It all started with the Baltimore Ravens-Pittsburgh Steelers postponement due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the Ravens organization. Reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson is among the players who tested positive for the Ravens.

Then on Saturday, things got really strange.

The Denver Broncos, already facing an uphill battle against the New Orleans Saints, will have zero, yes zero, active quarterbacks on Sunday. Their starting QB will be Kendall Hinton, an undrafted free agent wide receiver, who played some quarterback early in his college career at Wake Forest. Hinton had been on Denver’s practice squad all season.

What’s even more amusing is that Hinton was the Broncos’ second last resort. Had the league allowed it, Denver was prepared to turn to Offensive Quality Control Coach Rob Calabrese, a former college quarterback, as their Week 12 starter.

The point spread for this game as skyrocketed from -6 to -16.5 in favor of New Orleans. If you had the foresight to bet the Saints at -6, then I tip my hat to you.

With all that out of the way, here’s a look at four bets I love in Week 12.

Philip Rivers under 269.5 passing yards

The Colts host the Titans in what will be a ‘throwback’ football game. Expect both teams to rely heavily on their physical ground attacks here.

Available on DraftKings Sportsbook

Nelson Agholor over 48.5 receiving yards

Agholor is one of the most mocked players in Philadelphia sports history (there is a lot of competition for that honor), but he has been nothing short of outstanding with the Raiders. Expect the former first round pick to total 75+ yards on Sunday.

Available on BetMGM

Alvin Kamara over 56.5 rushing yards

NFL-point spreads-week 12-over under

The major storyline in this game will be Denver’s quarterback situation, but when it comes down to it the Saints should have a heyday on the ground. Don’t be surprised if Kamara goes over 100 yards against a porous Denver defense.

Available on PointsBet

Los Angeles Rams (-5.5)

The Rams once again have one of the NFL’s premier defenses, and the 49ers are dealing with a massive COVID-19 related distraction. Expect the Rams to win this game by at least a touchdown.
