The NFL season and Super Bowl LIV are now in the books, which means the 2020 Major League Baseball season is now officially upon us.

With pitchers and catchers reporting for Spring Training in the next couple of weeks, the oddsmakers at the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas, Nev. have released their odds on which pitcher is most likely to lead MLB in wins in 2020.

Here’s what they came up with.

Odds courtesy of the Westgate SuperBook as of 2/4/2020.

Max Scherzer, Washington Nationals (16/1)

Scherzer continues to be a strikeout machine, but the three-time Cy Young winner will be 35-years-old on Opening Day and he battled through multiple injuries in 2019. To his credit he got healthy for the Nationals epic postseason run, but I still expect to see manager Dave Martinez use a form of “load management” with Scherzer in 2020.

Walker Buehler, Los Angeles Dodgers (16/1)

Buehler is now the unquestioned staff ace for the Dodgers, and at only 25-years-old, he could still get even better.

Buehler may have the best stuff in baseball, and he should receive plenty of run support from what projects to be another strong Dodgers lineup.

Plenty of betting value here.

Jack Flaherty, St. Louis Cardinals (14/1)

Flaherty was the most dominant pitcher in baseball after the All-Star Break in 2019, posting a 0.91 ERA and winning NL Pitcher of the Month in both August and September.

It’s worth pointing out that Flaherty has yet to post a full season of dominance in his young MLB career. But if the 24-year-old can build off what he accomplished in the second half of 2019, he will be in contention here.

Justin Verlander, Houston Astros (14/1)

Verlander, the reigning AL Cy Young winner and MLB wins leader, continues to prove that age is just a number. The eight-time All-Star will be 37-years-old on Opening Day, but there is no reason to believe he won’t contend for the MLB wins crown in 2020.

Gerrit Cole, New York Yankees (6/1)

The $324 million man.

Cole was ridiculously dominant in 2019, and with the Yankees’ lineup, there’s no reason to believe he won’t have a chance to walk away with a win in every game he starts.

Barring injury, expect Cole to finish north of 20 wins in 2020.

Other notable names to watch:

  • Corey Kluber (18/1)
  • Chris Sale (25/1)
  • Jacob deGrom (30/1)
  • James Paxton (30/1)
  • Zack Greinke (30/1)
  • Mike Clevinger (30/1)
  • Stephen Strasburg (40/1)
  • Clayton Kershaw (40/1)
  • Luis Severino (40/1)
  • Aaron Nola (40/1)
  • Shane Bieber (50/1)
  • Blake Snell (50/1)
