A new era is about to begin for the Cincinnati Bengals, and it doesn’t include Andy Dalton.

The Bengals hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, which they will almost surely use on Joe Burrow, the record-setting, Heisman Trophy and national championship-winning quarterback from LSU. As a result, Dalton is now expendable and being shopped on the trade market by the Bengals’ front office.

Where will Dalton ultimately land?

Here’s where the oddsmakers at BetOnline see the 32-year-old quarterback playing in 2020.

Odds courtesy of BetOnline.ag as of March 23, 2020.

Carolina Panthers (+900)

Cam Newton is on his way out of Carolina, and Teddy Bridgewater has been signed to be the Panthers new starter.

Honestly, I’m not sure how Dalton would fit in here aside from being a potential backup to Bridgewater — and the Panthers already have Kyle Allen and Will Grier in place to fill that role.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+900)

Tom Brady is obviously Tampa Bay’s new starter. He will be 43-years-old when the 2020 season kicks off, though. Dalton would give the Bucs a nice insurance policy should Brady miss any time next fall.

New England Patriots (+500)

If the Patriots are committed to winning in 2020, Dalton would be an ideal target. He would be more of a game manager than New England is used to, but he would also likely pick up Josh McDaniels’ offense rather quickly. And given his personality, Dalton just seems like a Bill Belichick kind of guy.

Washington Redskins (+225)

The Redskins plans at quarterback remain a bit of a mystery. They’ve been linked to prospects in the draft (they hold the No. 2 overall pick), they have Dwayne Haskins (their first round pick in 2019) already on their roster, and they have also been linked to seemingly every available veteran quarterback this offseason.

If new head coach Ron Rivera truly desires a veteran signal caller, Dalton, who is a pro’s pro, would actually make a lot of sense.

  • Dallas Cowboys (+1000)
  • Los Angeles Chargers (+1200)
  • Jacksonville Jaguars (+1600)
  • New Orleans Saints (+1600)
