There’s no better cure for the Monday morning blues than a perfectly-timed ‘Woj bomb.’ And boy did ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski drop one on us the other day that sent shockwaves throughout the NBA.

The man at the center of this earth-shattering explosion: Anthony Davis.

There are only a few players in the National Basketball Association talented enough to move the needle if they switch teams. ‘The Brow’ is one of them. So, now that AD wants out of New Orleans, the question is, where will the five-time All-Star land?

It didn’t take long for Vegas oddsmakers to make their feelings known. Here is where they expect Anthony Davis to be playing in the 2019-20 NBA season.

Odds courtesy of BetOnline via OddsShark as of January 29, 2019.

New Orleans Pelicans (+500)

New Orleans is under no obligation to grant Davis’ trade request. And, according to Wojnarowski, the organization is unlikely to move him before the Feb. 7 deadline unless it’s blown away by an “overwhelming offer.” In all likelihood, the best offer won’t present itself until after the season. The Pelicans would be wise to hold tight until then.

Toronto Raptors (+300)

By trading for Kawhi Leonard this past offseason, the Raptors showed they mean business. Making a move for AD would be further proof that president of basketball operations Masai Ujiri is really going for it. When push comes to shove, the Raptors do have some talented youngsters — Pascal Siakam and O.G. Anunoby, for starters — that might pique the Pelicans’ interest. Toronto is definitely a sleeper team.

Los Angeles Lakers (+300)

Not only do the Lakers plan to make a strong push for The Brow, but most believe it’s only a matter of time before AD and his agent Rich Paul reveal that Los Angeles is his destination of choice (h/t to Woj once again). If the Lakers want Davis, it’s going to cost them a pretty penny. However, given that we already know how LeBron James feels, it’s safe to assume the Lakers will do what has to be done.

Boston Celtics (+150)

The Boston Celtics are the favorites to land Anthony Davis because they have the biggest war chest. The C’s have been stockpiling assets for years, including a boatload of first-round picks and an abundance of talent (see: Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Gordon Hayward). There’s just one problem: Boston can’t trade for AD until Kyrie Irving becomes a free agent after the season, as teams aren’t allowed to trade for two players still on their “Rose Rule” extensions. Of course, if the Pelicans are willing to wait until the offseason, that changes everything.

Other teams to watch:

  • New York Knicks (+1000)
  • Philadelphia 76ers (+1200)
  • Golden State Warriors (+1600)
  • Houston Rockets (+2000)
  • Oklahoma City Thunder (+2500)
  • San Antonio Spurs (+2500)
